Bailey goes to Aviemore.

This week I went to the Cairngorms which are in Scotland which is a very long way when your just a little dog. We stayed in a place called Aviemore in a building called a hotel, apparently this was no ordinary hotel it was a Hilton which is a very special one.

I got to watch whatever channel I wanted on the TV whilst mum and dad went for their meals. I wasn't allowed to go into the restaurant which is probably as well as I can get a little excited when there is food around. I was very envious of my mum and dad because they always came back smelling wonderful. Apparently, you can have as many sausages as you like for breakfast. Sounds like doodle heaven.

Mum had bought me a special Stewart Tartan banana for the holiday. So I had to sit through a talk about the importance of the Clan Tartan’s in Scottish history before I could go out and play.

On Tuesday we went on a trip to Loch Garten to see the Crested Tits, they are really really tiny little bids which like to live in this part of Scotland. Mum got really excited when one showed up and she looks lots of pictures. I have to be very patient and it’s best if I don’t bark. I have got to admit bird watching is a bit boring but whatever makes mum and dad happy is good for me too.

Wednesday morning and I had a wonderful surprise, it has been snowing. I just love snow. The hotel has woods behind it with lots of paths and trails, dad took me on lots of walks. The smells where amazing especially first thing in a morning there are where lots of little animals and birds, best of all are the little red squirrels. I am used to the grey ones we have at home but the red ones speak Scottish, which takes a bit of getting used to.  We went to Loch Morlich which had some funny stuff called ice in the water. It stuck to my nose and was very cold.

Thursday we went up a mountain called the Cairngorm, I have never seen so much snow. I wanted to have a go at Skiing but they didn’t have any ski’s to fit doodles so I had a go at belly surfing instead.

Friday morning we did a bit more bird watching. We could hear funny noises in the hills behind us which was apparently the Red Grouse calling, the males can be a little grumpy at this time of the year, so it’s best not to try and talk to them.

Friday afternoon and I am feeling very sad as we have to go home but I had the best time ever. Bye, Bye Hilton Coylumbridge we will be back again soon.
