Not a happy doodle.
I was not such a happy Doodle this week, I know it was something called the autumn equinox yesterday but it felt more like the winter solstice when I was standing shivering in Derwent Water yesterday. Someone who will remain nameless thought it would be funny to throw in stick into the water. Didn't find the stick either !

Wag Wednesday
I had a lovely day out at Bodnant Garden in North Wales this week with mum & dad. They don't usually let dogs in but they now have a special night called "Wag Wednesday" when we can go in. It's a great walk around the gardens and I met lots of new friends. They put out loads of water bowls and there are a lot of waste bins around so dad doesn't have to walk too far with a poo bag.

World Sjögren's Day 23rd July 2016
Me and Mum both wearing blue for World Sjogren's Day which commemorates the birthday of Henrik Sjogren, who first identified this disease in 1933.
Sjögren’s (pronounced SHOW-grins) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease in which people’s white blood cells attack their moisture-producing glands. Four primary symptoms include fatigue, joint pain, dry eye and dry mouth, but Sjögren’s may also cause dysfunction of other organs such as the kidneys, gastrointestinal system, blood vessels, lungs, liver, pancreas, and the central nervous system.

A Little Less Conversation
My Dad was trying to have a serious conversation with me about how to behave when visiting a National Trust property but I was more interested in the very cute Cockerpoo who had just appeared walking on the lawn behind him.

Plas Newydd
This week I went on an adventure to an island called Anglesey and a palce called Plas Newydd which allows dogs. I had a great walk along the Menai straits and through some trees called Eucalyptus which smelt very unusual. There is apparently a really big picture in the house by someone called Whistler but I couldn't hear anything and it was one of those big stately home that they dont allow dogs in.We ended the day with fish and chips and some Starbucks cappuccino froth - brilliant.
Back to Agility
Aunty Lucy and Aunty Paula looked after me this week because my dad's cannot run very fast at the minute.

Fun in the Cairngorms
This week I went to the Cairngorms which is in Scotland which is a very long way when your just a little dog. We stayed in a place called Aviemore in a building called a hotel, apparently this was no ordinary hotel it was a Hilton which is a very special one. After checking the pet pack, I got to watch whatever channel I wanted on the TV whilst mum and dad went for their meals. I wasn't allowed to go in the restaurant which is probably as well as I can get a little bit too excited when there is food around. Mum and Dad always came back with a wonderful aroma of food, apparently you can have as many sausages as you like for breakfast, sounds like doggie heaven.
The hotel is surrounded by woods with lots of dog friendly paths and trails, my dad took me on lots of walks, the smells where amazing especially first thing in a morning and I didn’t get muddy either.
In the hotel grounds there are lots of little animals and birds, best of all are the little red squizzes I am used to the grey ones we have at home but the red ones speak Scottish, which took a bit of getting used to, but I soon started to understand it. Dad got a bit annoyed at some of the other doggies humans because they let their dogs off their leads chasing round, which Dad said could spoil it for the good dogs.
On Tuesday we went on a trip to Loch Garten to see the Crested Tits, they are really really tiny little bids which like to live in this part of Scotland. Mum got really excited when one showed up and she looks lots of pictures. I have to be very patient and it’s best if I don’t bark. I have got to admit bird watching is a bit boring but what ever makes mum and dad happy is good for me too.
Wednesday morning and I had a wonderful surprise, it has been snowing. I just love snow. We went to Loch Morlich which had some funny stuff called ice in the water. It stuck to my nose and was very cold.
Thursday we went up a mountain called the Cairngorm, I have never seen so much snow. I wanted to have a go at Skiing but they didn’t have any ski’s to fit doodles so I had a go at belly surfing instead.
We also did a bit more bird watching this time on the Cairngorm, mum and dad tried to explain what kinds of birds you can seen in the Carngorms, but it just looked like a poster on a wall to me. We could hear funny noises in the hills behind us which was apparently the Black Grouse calling, the males can be a little grumpy at this time of the year, so it’s best not to try and talk to them.
Friday and I am feeling very sad as we have to go home but I had the best time ever. My first stay in a Hilton was wonderful, everyone was very friendly and I got lots of strokes.
Bye Bye Hilton Coylumbridge we will be back again soon.
