Highland Fling

This week I had an adventure to the Highlands of Scotland, it’s a very long way from Lancashire but I slept most of the way and woke up to views of mountains and lochs. A loch seems to be the Scottish word for a lake.

We stayed in a dog-friendly hotel so I could have breakfast with my pawrents, I even got a welcoming present from @bob_and_lush. Although I don’t think really I had to wear this funny hat before I could open them.

Dad said If I wanted to mingle in with the local pups, would have to learn a few Scottish sayings like "Och aye the noo” which is a real mouthful when you have a mouthful of biscuits and “ See You, Jimmy “.

I saw my first Scottish Castle, Castle Stalker which was built by the MacDougalls Clan so long ago that there where no Labradoodles around.

Mum tried to explain the Scottish Clan history which sounded a bit like Game of Thrones but without the dragons. They do have something called the Loch Ness monster which dad said might get me if I jumped in any of the lochs.

One day we went to one of mum’s favourite places in Scotland the amazing beach at Silver Sands. I love it too, your paws sink into the sand a bit so it’s just like running on snow.

Sadly we had to come home, but perhaps sadly is the wrong word to use as I love coming home too.

Back on the Beach

Today, I am particularly excited because it's now October so I can go back onto the beaches which have been closed to dogs for summer.
